South Park Takes Aim at Meghan Markle Again

South Park has done it again — and this time, the comedy giants have ignited a fresh whirlwind of royal drama. In an episode that has sent social media into meltdown, the animated series took a razor-sharp swipe at Meghan Markle’s recent Harper’s Bazaar interview, leaving viewers howling, critics fuming, and fans wondering whether the show has crossed yet another controversial line.

South Park Mocks Meghan Markle’s Harper's Bazaar Interview! She Stole Diana's Look Again? | Parody

The episode, which aired to jaw-dropped audiences on Thursday night, lampooned the Duchess of Sussex with its trademark bluntness, placing a fictionalised version of Meghan front and center in a storyline dripping with satire, exaggeration, and just enough chaos to break the internet.

And break it it did.

Within minutes of airing, the hashtags #SouthParkMeghanand #DianaDebate exploded across X (formerly Twitter), as users debated everything from the show’s portrayal of Meghan’s interview to a joke suggesting she was “borrowing” the late Princess Diana’s iconic fashion aesthetic yet again.

In the episode, the animated Meghan character is seen appearing on a spoof version of Harper’s Bazaar, delivering grand monologues about “finding my voice, again and again,” while simultaneously staging flawless photo shoots in outfits unmistakably inspired by Diana’s most famous looks. The intentional parody didn’t stop there — the show doubled down by flashing exaggerated side-by-side comparisons, prompting the fictional public within the episode to gasp in theatrical disbelief.

Fans of the show were in hysterics. Critics were less amused.

One viewer wrote, “South Park doesn’t miss — they actually recreated Diana’s revenge dress on Meghan’s cartoon! I’m crying.” Another commented, “At this point she should get royalties every time they parody her.”

But others found the segment unnecessarily harsh, calling it “tone-deaf,” “cruel,” and “obsessed.” Some royal commentators even stepped in, emphasising that the comparisons to Diana — whether in real life or via satire — have long been sensationalised by tabloids and television, often without grounding in fact.

Still, the episode leaned fully into the comedic chaos.

At one point, the cartoon Meghan is portrayed dramatically entering a press event wearing a black off-the-shoulder dress identical to Diana’s 1994 revenge-dress silhouette — except exaggerated with a mile-high slit and a glowing halo. The crowd gasps. Paparazzi scream. The fictional character insists, “It’s completely original!” as flashbulbs erupt.

South Park’s creators, known for skewering celebrities, politics, and pop culture without fear or favour, appear unfazed by the likely backlash. The episode concluded with a tongue-in-cheek disclaimer reminding viewers that all characters are fictionalised parodies — a nod to the inevitable headlines the storyline was destined to generate.

And generate them it did.

Royal watchers are already dissecting every frame, while Sussex supporters argue the show is stirring unnecessary controversy. But whether loved or loathed, one thing is undeniable:

South Park has once again thrust Meghan Markle into the centre of a comedic firestorm — and this latest parody is proving to be one of its most explosive yet.

As for Meghan? She hasn’t responded. And knowing her media strategy, she probably won’t. But that hasn’t stopped the world from watching — or laughing — as COMEDY CHAOS reignites the Meghan debate all over again
